Rates & Packages
HOW IT WORKS
Most local jobs (“Local” = Within 150 miles of South Philly) are a time based rate, with a 2 hour minimum charge, and a flat travel fee that covers our commute to and from the job.
If the clock goes past the 2 hour minimum, additional time is charged in 15 minute increments of the hourly rate.
We charge extra for weekends.
We charge extra if the job involves more than 2 consecutive flights of stairs (DOES NOT INCLUDE BASEMENTS OR FRONT STEPS).
We can take cash, Venmo, Cash App and all major credit/debit cards for payment.
MORE INFO ABOUT STAIRS!
A “flight” is defined as 13-16 steps.
A “Story” can have MULTIPLE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS if there is a tall ceiling.
We ask all clients to be mindful of this distinction when booking our services!
We don’t care about basements, or front steps with 5 steps or less.
PIANOS: The only pianos we do are spinet/upright, and must be ground level to ground level. Starts at $300.
DUMP RUNS: We can junk/haul away furniture on a case-by-case basis. Starts at $125.
We always have plastic mattress bags on the truck and recommend them to anyone moving a mattress! They are $15 and we put it on for you.
Valuation and Coverage For Your Items
Ben the Mover Guy LLC is fully licensed and insured for local and interstate transportation of goods. We offer two different levels of coverage, and we require all clients to select coverage in writing before the start of their move.
Basic Coverage
Basic coverage, otherwise known as Released Valuation, is already included in every move, at no additional cost. Under this option, our liability is limited to $0.60 per pound per article. This is an industry standard rate set by the Pennsylvania Utility Commission (PUC), and is enforced by all Pennsylania moving companies.
Basic coverage is ideal for clients who are moving on a budget, and who have furniture they would not necessarily consider valuable, sentimental or precious.
Premium Coverage
For clients who need more peace of mind for their cargo, we offer deductible-based plans that can be purchased in-house, starting at $200 for cargo with a value of $15,000.
